Turkey Coma Victim

Welcome Comrades,

It's been almost 3 weeks since my last column, and a lot of you have been wondering what happened to me. Well, it is the holidays, and even a liberator like myself has to make time to commemorate the subjugation of a continent and it's indigenous peoples and the eradication of their cultures. I mean, c'mon, everyone likes turkey! Did you know that Ben Franklin wanted the brand-new United States to adopt the turkey as it's national symbol? He felt it was a hard-working, modest, family-oriented bird that represented the morals and conscience of the new nation. Franklin thought that the bald eagle, as a carrion-eating predator, was a poor symbol for a democracy, but he was out-voted, just like on emancipation. Thank goodness cooler heads prevailed, right? Otherwise, we would have deprived ourselves of a proud gastronomic tradition. We couldn't eat our national symbol, could we? Can you imagine eating eagle on thankgiving? It's very gamey... or, so, I've been told... by friends... who poach...

Anyway, I was out of town for a while, then, I got busy... so sue me... like I haven't got enough problems...

Don't worry, there's still plenty of things that piss me off. I'll get back to it, soon.
